Religious Education (K–5)

About the Religious Education Program

The Religious Education Program of St. John Paul the Great Parish seeks to educate the hearts and minds of our children in the journey toward a deeper understanding of our Catholic Faith and its traditions.

The ministry primarily addresses the Faith Formation of our children, while providing spiritual programming for the adults. Our goal is to foster growth in faith through active participation at Mass, classroom instruction, involvement in parish activities and community outreach.

We believe that as church educators we are here to assist the parents in carrying out their responsibilities for the religious formation of their children. On the day of your child's Baptism, you accept the responsibility of training them in the practice of our faith, this is an immense responsibility; therefore parental involvement in our program is viewed as essential to accomplish our goals.

Full participation in parish life, including regular Mass attendance, allows the children the opportunity to be part of the parish family. Religious Education is an on-going program, each year becomes a base for the next. We invite all children in grade K through high school who are not attending a Catholic school to be part of our Religious Education Program.
