In the words of St John Paul the Great, “The ultimate test of your greatness is the way you treat every human being.” The less fortunate in our community, the homeless, the hungry, deserve to be treated with dignity and compassion.
One simple way to do this is by helping area food banks feed the hungry in our community. Please consider donating a non-perishable food item to our monthly food collections.
Items may be left at St. Peter or St. Francis churches the weekend of Dec 2/3:
Pasta, Pasta Sauce, Rice, Tuna, Mac & Cheese, Canned Fruits and Vegetables, Instant Potatoes, Side Dishes, Beans, Juices, Peanut Butter, Jelly and Cereal
All donated food will continue to be distributed to local agencies including FISH, Friendly Hands, the Community Soup Kitchen of Torrington, and Open Door Soup Kitchen in Winsted through Stock the Shelves.
Monetary donations are still greatly appreciated and checks may still be made out to FISH and Friendly Hands.
Please remember that the food banks cannot accept expired food.
